Humanity for Exhibit

Acrylic painting of a pinned flower exhibit. The labels on the top left read "Daisy Flower(purple), Leucanthemum maximum, collected 1999." The petals, leaves, and stem are pinned on a grey background. This portrait has a rectangle frame next to a bookshelf, scissors, and pencils on a wooden surface. April 2024 11" x 14" Across many forms of oppression is the dehumanization of people: overt violence and aggression, experimentation, sensationalism, or scrutiny. It is certain that it is difficult to describe the feelings that come from being treated as an anomaly to pick apart(whether figuratively or literally) for entertainment, study, or as an outlet for one's aggression; it is difficult to describe the harm. No matter what's been done, a flower is not merely it's petals and leaves for display.
